exhibitions/news Janet Marcavage curated the print portfolio, Patterned Remarks, which will be exhibited during the 2010 Southern Graphics Council Conference at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Hamilton Building, 128 N Broad Street, Printmaking Area, Sixth Floor Gallery, from 9am to 5pm on Thursday, Mar. 25th and Friday, Mar. 26th, 2010. The act of repetition is intrinsic to the processes of printmaking and may be associated with nostalgia, production, and the recurrence of events. Throughout the process, statements evolve, repeat and are reiterated again. The prints in this portfolio utilize printmaking as a matrix to explore visual pattern, including personal remarks on the decorative and mimicry of the systems around us. Participants bridge the act of repetition with its portrayal. The participants are Jennifer Angus, Mark Franchino, Kevin Haas, Karla Hackenmiller, Adriane Herman, Yoshihiro Kitai, Janet Marcavage, Frances Myers, Jessica Spring, and Imin Yeh. *** Marcavage will participate in Copy Jam!, organized by Printeresting (Amze Emmons, RL Tillman, and Jason Urban) at Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction at 116 North Third Street in Philadelphia on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 6-9 PM. Upon arrival, each guest will be handed a complimentary ticket that can be exchanged for one black & white photocopy of any work. *** Nancy Angermeyer, Michelle Templeton, and Janet Marcavage
